Removal of country limits temporarily and permanently, will both require the support of the majority of both houses of the congress. It will require as much effort to to remove country limits temporarily as it will require to remove country limits permanently.
Some folks here just wants to remove country limits till the time they get their agree card i.e. for the span of 2 years. If removal of country limits is good for EB community and America, then why only remove it for 2 years ONLY.
Such a campaign is likely to divide this community. PLEASE DO NOT divide the community by supporting this mis-directed agenda.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences. I plan to take care of the Canada landing on the 4th of July. Will be in Canada for a week and spend some time with friends and family. Hopefully all goes smooth. I plan to re-enter on AP - will post my experience here.

Okay guys.. now the journey is over for me. I finally got my physical cards in mail. for some reason I never got CPO email/text. All I got decision and post decision emails. Since it had been couple of weeks since decision I was getting uneasy (because of no CPO).. but I got physical cards in mail today !

I can very well relate to your desperation and anger, but please don't react emotionally. The legal or technical fact remains that no-one guranteed us GC and truth of the matter is most of us said "No" when immigration officer asked " do you have plans to settle in State?" So their is no question of equitable treatment.

After 2005, I changed my mind and we had applied twice (me and my spouse) and hence we marked yes on the question whether any immigrant application was filed on our behalf. No we did not lie there. And even if many people did, do you think those who come from Europe or visa free countries mark "yes" when they apply first time? So your point is moot there. Most people from visa free countries come here work here visa free and go back. They never even get asked a question. How come we get fingerprinted, photographed twice, interrogated twice and yet targeted when it comes to GC?
I am not against capitalism but I am against fighting injustice such as you dont get GC because you were born in India. And yes change will come but if we dont do anything we get nothing.

Sent on Jun 29th. I don't know when it has reached. My dates were available in June. I am hoping it should have reached Jun 30th.

I'm in very similar situation. My dates were available for June as well. My HR/Attorneys did this long and painful bureaucratic process. We have an internal website which says that my case was �filed� on Jun-29th. Don�t know what the fuck that means. Whether it was sent on 29th or received on 29th? Couldn�t get HR to answer.Don�t have direct communication lines with Attorneys... If it�s sent on 29th, does USCIS take packages on Saturday or Sunday? If they take only on Monday, will they throw it out because it reached in July? Oh well, just have to wait and see...

If you use AP you enter the US as a "parolee". (Is that how you spell it?).
If you use AVR I believe you enter as an H1B. I would prefer to enter as an H1B
since I have not yet used my EAD or AC21.
To clarify - are you suggesting that it is advisable to use AVR if you have both AP and AVR, and you have not used EAD or AC21 so far. Also, my spouse and myself could be returning at different times in to the country from Canada. Does this change the preference of using either AVR or AP. Since I am the primary applicant but of course we plan to land together.

Iam a July 3rd filer and the moneyorders for me and my wife has been cashed on September 28th. We had send 2 moneyorders for $745. Waiting for the receipts to come. Hope all of you get your receipts very soon.
Very sorry guys!!But all the information that I got from lawyer's office was wrong. They did not send my I-485 on July 2nd as I thought. When I got the receipts the received date was July 20th. Receipts are from Texas. I hope you all get your receipts soon.

Your case is like me, except I am porting Priority date from my previous approved I-140 Eb3 case. Your new I-140 transferred to Texas Service centre because your employer comes under Texas Service centre. Your residency location also comes under Texas service centre. So you will receive I-485, I-765 and I-131 with SRC numbers. But it may take longer time.
Good thing is Texas Service center is processing I-140 applications in May 2007. Max they are taking 5 months. People are discussing about LUD, it doesn't matter. It seems Texas service centre doing some regular maintenance. If you register your old approved H1s, their LUDs also changing.

so what is your point? i have no doubts that i can prove point 1, 2 and 3 below... i.e. real business, planned business (with only me as the employee), contracts and orders. i dont think anyone here is talking about a non-bonafide job with a "paper shop" (in your words)...
what is your point about If business is new, it becomes difficult to show that business can offer full time job to someone at say 60k salary per year? doesnt that sounds like "ability to pay" issue? if yes, that is not an issue at I-485 stage... the yates memo clearly states this...
The problem with self employment is demonstrate
1. AC-21 job is in same classification as original labor/I-140
2. New job is bonafide
In order to show that the new job is "real", one has to show
1. The business is real, not just paper shop
2. Business Plan, Funding to support employees
3. Any contracts, orders etc
If business is new, it becomes difficult to show that business can offer full time job to someone at say 60k salary per year. Now, if business has some capital funding or line of credit from bank or some long term contracts, then it is relatively easy to show that business can support employees.
The burden of proof, in case of RFE, lies on beneficiary.

I am july 3rd filer and Just got the receipt numbers..Looks like our box is not lost and interestingly my numbers start with LIN even though my 140 processed from SRC.
